DISGUST

I really am disgusted at the way some bloggers have been voicing their frustrations and inability to cope with their individual situations and blaming it on either the Libyans as a whole or the country or everything and everybody except the actual cause. To say that the streets are littered with garbage shouldn't really be a problem because it is something that we all have to deal with and can see, not to like libyan food or any other food is also not a problem because it is a personal taste, like who can eat monkey brain ? raw fish ? barely hatched eggs with the chick inside ? frogs ? horse meat ? dogs/cats ? snakes ? the list goes on and on but like I said everyone is free to eat what they want and what they are accustomed to , but does that give us the right to say that because they eat something we don't like they are dirty ? they are smelly ? of course not.
The site name should be changed from all libyan blogs to all libyan haters blog. Once that is done then us LIBYANS WHO LOVE LIBYA (with its smelly food and people and garbage ) would gladly continue to blog on the all libyan blogs site and not have to worry about reading a new insult !
Blogging does not mean you can always be positive, but it does mean that you should respect others. To discuss negative aspects is not wrong but it should be done to find solutions and ways to deal with issues, I personally would love to see that people are made aware of these problems and how they can solve them, but by being sarcastic and insulting I don't see it happening. We can all start by changing ourselves and our immediate circle and then like a puddle it will enlarge itself to include everybody.
Now having said all the above , it really is time for us to be constructive and not destructive.

  1. I am lost, because I did not understand what you are trying to say. Can you be specific, a blogger has the right to write what ever he/she wants, whether it is critical of Libya or not. I do not have a problem with a blogger but I do have a problem with the readers whether they are bloggers themselves or not. Unfortunately most readers comments are shallow and meaningless, because they do not make an effort to write an intellectual comments and most of their comments are just complimenst and sometimes insults if they do not like what the blogger or a reader wrote. Unfortunately for some to be civil it is very hard.

I read the Libyan bloggers what they write, sometimes I comment but the truth I do not have the time, they day is too short, I use every minute of the day to enjoy myself either reading in every form, listening to music and at the end my free time belongs to my kids, it is always pleasure to share my knowledge with them and I learn alot from them.

By the way SimSim , you are an angry Libyan woman, enjoy your life, do not let other people opinions piss you off, the life is too short and summer is here.

  2. Oh heck ! Go for the gusto and get mad . It's your blog and your country . But having said that, you have to admit it is disgusting to see garbage all over the town , actually not so much garbage, since the street workers try hard to keep that off the streets most of the time ; as the rubble gets to me .With everything being knocked down to make room for the new ... roads , houses , malls , shops , etc .No one ever hauls away the rubble ! It is in piles here , there , and everywhere , Grey this and grey that .Ugh !

  3. Thanks for your comments but what I said was, having the right to disagree does not give you the right to be insulting and I believe that I have a right to comment on comments which I disagree with. Anyway this should not make me an angry woman, I am actually enjoying my life but I am pointing out things that I dont agree with. So we are all entitled to our own opinion. The way I see things is probably different than others. We are all free to say what we want but we have to be respectful of others feelings. To go through this phase of rubble everywhere is the price we have to pay for things to improve, and everything has a price. Being away does not make me any less of a Libyan, and I do enjoy reading the different bloggers subjects but I take offence when someone just goes ahead and starts spewing insults about things which I consider as personal aspects . Anyway I do have strong opinions about certain things which I don't really like but putting them forward will not make them disappear so I just keep them to myself.
Thanks all the same and I do consider myself to be well educated and civil since I am pointing out the obvious and am not being insulting towards anybody.
